Lovely Links, Vol. 6 (Holiday Edition)

+I'm a big fan of life hacks so when I stumbled on 51 Life-Saving Holiday Hacks on Buzzfeed, I knew I had to share it. Most of these I look at and think, "Duh, how did I not think of this before?"

+If you're in need of an advent calendar, Sugardoodle has a great one available. Here's the description from their website: "We know how crazy busy December can get and how hard it can be to help your family focus on Christ so we've created a really cute "A Savior Is Born" 12-day advent and it's free!  Each day you add a numbered pennant flag to your advent banner. The pennant has a scripture on the back, a short topic to discuss, and a simple activity. Keeping things short, simple, and festive just the way you need them to be!  All of the printables and activities were designed to be inexpensive and easy to create.  Most require only card stock, scissors, and less than 15 minutes of your time."

+One of my favorite things from this year has been the 12 Days of Social Media. The LDS church has released a video the last 13 days from a new YouTube star. All these videos will definitely get you into the holiday spirit.

+Did you know there's a book version of the movie Home Alone? It is adorable. I think I will have to purchase it to add to our growing Christmas book collection.

+I can't have a holiday edition without including a link to the Santa Tracker. I realize Santa isn't heading anywhere until Christmas Eve, but until then there's a Christmas countdown, games, and fun educational activities for kids.

Lovely Links, Vol. 5

+I've come across quite a few articles on marrying young that I love, but one of my favorites can be found here. We weren't as young as some people I know when we got married, but people are still surprised when a 22-year-old and a 27-year-old hitch their lives together for eternity (and then pop out a kid before their first anniversary no less #mormons). We may only be going on a year and a half of marriage, but I'd say it's going swimmingly well.

+I enjoyed this article on how society looks down on women who decide to have lots of children, and how people are obsessed with whether the choice of having a baby was planned or not. It makes a point that we should support moms regardless of whether their kid was "planned" or "unplanned" because it doesn't change how much that child is loved. It was something I hadn't really thought about before, but agree whole-heartedly with. (My description of that article doesn't make it sound all that interesting, but it is. Just read it.)

+Do you guys remember Ben Scott from Desiree's season of The Bachelorette? He was painted as the villain that season (there always has to be a villain #villainsgottovill). Well I somehow stumbled across this video of him getting engaged and he doesn't seem so bad anymore. And then I stalked both of their Instagram accounts and decided they are the cutest.

+If you're looking for some feel goods: People Hearing For The First Time and 11 Pixar Short Films.

+I have listened to Vocal Point's version of Homeward Bound approximately 1372489 times. It is so good. Watch the music video here.

+This tongue-in-cheek article about the new rage of "waterslide births" shows the funnier side of parenting opinions.

+Kid President always puts a smile on my face. This video dedicated to moms especially warmed my heart.

+If you haven't seen it floating around yet, here's the first chapter of Harper Lee's "Go Set a Watchman" (you can buy the whole book here, it goes on sale tomorrow).

+Any Bachelorette watchers out there? These are by far the funniest recaps I've come across.

Lovely Links, Vol. 3 (Mommy Edition)

Feeding a baby every three hours provides a lot of time stuck in a chair. That free time is spent either binge watching The Office or reading. I've discovered a lot of blogs with all this reading and have stumbled across quite a few gems on motherhood. So I present to you:
+"You're Too Young to Have A Baby" is an article I know I can relate to. I was pregnant at 22 and now a mom at 23 and I wouldn't have it any other way.

+This parody of Can't Stop, Won't Stop... Having Babies is perfection. I want to be friends with this family.

+I loved this post by Ashley Gardner about how her 8 year journey of infertility prepared her to be a mother to her beautiful quadruplets. Plus the photos are gorgeous.

+Seeing what my body can do during pregnancy and child birth has made me realize how amazing my body really is so I really enjoyed this article about how we need to stop saying babies ruin bodies.

+I thought these doodles of new mommyhood were hilarious! And those are just a small sampling. There's 120 of them in this book that I'm quite tempted to buy.

+I'm sure you've all seen the great-legging-debate-of-2015 going around the internet which has luckily died down already. I'm not here to start another discussion on the matter, but I thoroughly enjoyed this comical view point.

+Jenna wrote an article that I love and completely agree with on encouraging light. Such a great reminder!

+I discovered the coolest site ever! Wordmark allows you to view all the fonts you have on your computer at the same time. It makes designing pretty much anything a whole lot easier.

+If you use Instagram (or really any social media), you need to read this post on how to protect your family. It's scary to face the reality, but so necessary to take some precautions.

+I read this article and could not believe how spot on it was! Erin hits the nail on the head about why blogging is hard.

PS- Thanks for all the love on Taylor's birth story. We are doing great and have loved adjusting to being a family of three.

+I was pretty disappointed in the Super Bowl commercials this year, but I did get a good laugh after watching Mountain Dew's ad. What was your favorite commercial from the Super Bowl?

+If you haven't seen Adam Levine crashing weddings in his new Maroon 5 music video, do that now.

+Even though I already have a reading list a mile long, I have been wanting to buy this book for some time now. Has anyone else read it?

+I'm in search of a gray rocker like this one or this one for the nursery... except cheaper. Any suggestions?

+If you love to watch The Bachelor solely to make fun of it like I do, you will love this SNL sketch with Blake Shelton.

+This article has some great suggestions for improving your blog in 2015. I plan on working through it.
