I have an announcement to make...

I am going back to school!

I was accepted to the BYU-Idaho online pathway program and classes start the end of September.

I'm both scared and excited, but I know that good things will come from this.

#azbloggermeetup: Round Tres

Friday night I was able to attend the third AZ Blogger Meet-up which was at Clothes Minded. It was a fantastic place for the festivities to be held. Clothes Minded provided us with a great night of entertainment as well as yummy treats made by Sweetables. I mean, just look at how darling all those treats are.

 Enough about the food, back to the store. Clothes Minded is owned by Kim who is just awesome. The store was her dream and she finally was able to make it happen earlier this year. She features a lot of local designers. If i didn't have any self-control, I would have walked out of there with over half the store. The clothing and accessories are fabulous.

  

Something I was really excited about was the guest speaker. Ashley from The Shine Project came and talked to us. If you don't know Ashley or anything about The Shine Project, you need to check it out. And for those of you who do know about Ashley and follow her blog, let me be the first to tell you, she's just as nice in person as she appears to be on her blog.

 She also brought some new pieces from the Threads Collection and I jumped on the chance to buy one.

It was a great night and I can't thank Clothes Minded enough. They were so accommodating and even provided us with gift bags as we were leaving! You must go. Check them out on Facebook here.

Let It Be (Not a post about the Beatles)

My fingers are itching to type, carefully hovering over the keyboard, waiting for the words to flow,

but the words don't come. What a strange concept to yearn to write yet have nothing to spill onto the page.

And then I realize, there isn't anything to say. Sometimes life is just the way it's suppose to be and there's no use trying to analyze it or explain it to others.

So I'll let the pieces fall into their perfect little spaces without trying to change or manipulate them. Sometimes you have to let life be.

PS - Tonight I'm going to a special Phoenix Suns event. Exclusive invite to a dinner with coaches, managers, and past players. Me and the boy are rather excited. (Yes, I do have a boy now if you couldn't tell from my last #typethenthink post).

twenty boring facts about me

being a blogger entitles oneself to talk about how awesome he/she is.

so i've compiled a list of twenty facts to demonstrate just that

(or it may just be a list of random things you don't even care to know).

1. i was a fat baby. i weighed 10lbs 10oz.  i was also born with crossed eyes.

2. i'm twenty one and a half. it's been a good year to me so far. let's see how the second half goes.

3. i graduated 6th in my high school class. sounds impressive until you realize there was only 66 kids in that graduating class.



4. i lived in seven different houses growing up. i feel like that's a lot. maybe not.
since being on my own, i've added four more places to the list.

5. books. they're sort of my thing.

6. my feet prefer to be bare.

7. i am a huge phoenix suns fans. even though they lose a majority of the time. and got rid of steve nash. and now luis scola. they make it difficult to be a faithful fan, but i'm persevering.

8. i have an older and a younger brother. i also have 5 step-brothers and 1 step-sister (none of whom i know very well).

9. disneyland is my happy place.

10. i had mono when i was fifteen. from kissing too many boys.

just kidding. i still had virgin lips at the time of my disease.

11. i was in two musicals in high school: bye bye birdie and oklahoma.

 12. i think elephants are amazing. they're my favorite.

13. i played soccer all four years of high school even though i detest running.

14. i'm a college drop-out. but plan to go back. maybe. eventually. hopefully.

15. i love the smell of exhaust because it reminds me of my grandfather who was a mechanic.

16.  some may say i'm addicted to dr. pepper. i'm trying to slowly cut it out of my daily consumption.

17. my current car is named henry II getting it's name sake from an older model that i drove in high school.

20.  i have never broken a bone. knock-on-wood.

1. I don't post every day. Or every other day. Heck, you're lucky if you get one post a week.

7. And lastly, I'm starting to realize that my life isn't as exciting to others as I perceive it to be.

Also, I only could come up with seven reasons instead of a solid ten.

terrifyingly familiar

you are terrifying, yet familiar. my mind says to run, but my heart pulls me towards you.

 

for the first time, i listen. i let go of my stubborn pride and let myself run into your arms. you're there to pull me into you and my head rests on your chests, counting the steady rhythm as your heart beats, grateful that we found our way back to each other.

you are terrifying, but i don't mind.

my weekend was better than yours

...unless you were on the beach or in disneyland. in which case, you win.

but if you weren't, then my weekend was way better. my best friend jenna and her husband miles came down to the valley for the weekend. most importantly though, they brought me miss tycie shea who was born last month on the 7th. i have been waiting to meet her ever since and once i finally saw her, i was like this the whole time:

i'm so glad jenna and miles were blessed with this little girl and that i'm able to be a part of her life as aunt bobbie (bobbie= nickname with a long story behind it, just go with it). she also makes me super baby hungry. i mean, just look at how scrumptious she is.

she is absolutely perfect.

the rest of my weekend was spent with a certain boy and his family.

all in all, it was a great weekend. and you should be jealous.
