How We Wore It // Fall Transition

This month I decided to go a little out of my comfort zone. I joined with some fabulous bloggers for a fashion post collaboration. Each month Brooke from Silver Lining finds an inspiration photo and the bloggers involved for the month post their take on the outfit (some more successfully then others; sorry for bringing the group down guys).

Normally I would run the other way from this type of opportunity, but Brooke recently moved to Arizona and we became real-life friends instead of just virtual blog friends. Knowing how wonderful Brooke is, I decided that I at least had to try this out once. And you know what? It wasn't as awkward as I feared. It might have helped that there were some teenage boys filming a movie across the street while I snapped my outfit photos. Thanks adolescent teens for making me feel better.

Here's the original look:

Here's my interpretation:

I was inspired by the color when I first saw the photo. Since the little bike pattern is the same color as Emily's top, it reminded me of this cardigan that was hidden away in my closet. I never wear it, even though I love it. Arizona is just so uncommonly hot that there's never really a reason to wear a cardigan. I decided that this challenge was the perfect excuse to wear it.

I immediately regretted my decision once I stepped outside. Notice how the title states fall transition. Yet, the high today was 106 degrees. Nothing about that says fall. Oh well. I still love this cardigan, and hopefully sometime in January I can wear it without melting to death.

Of course, I couldn't snap outfit photos without my favorite little accessory joining me for a few pictures.

An Ode To Harley

From my itty bitty 5 week old puppy to my grumpy old dog. We may complain about how much Harley smells and she might snore while she's awake, but we love having her in the family. Plus, Taylor adores Harley. I seriously think he likes her more than me sometimes.

Happy birthday Harley! You make 4 look good! Or is that 28 in dog years?

5 Months of Taylor

This month, Taylor has mastered the front and back roll. He's constantly doing "baby crunches" in attempts to sit up. He loves to babble, squeal, and laugh. My favorite new trick he's learned is reaching out towards me when I go to pick him up- it just pulls at my mama heart strings.

It's crazy how much babies can change and learn from month to month. When I look back at Taylor's first pictures, I can't even remember him that small! My 17.5 lb boy couldn't possibly have started out so tiny! I'm glad I get to watch all of his progress and growth every day (because sometimes I feel like he really does change from one day to the next).
