Fall Maternity Style

*This post is sponsored by JORD watches, but that doesn't affect my love for these gorgeous wood watches.*

As a pregnant woman, I always enjoy reading maternity fashion posts on other blogs. I tend to like the layered look when it comes to dressing the bump. The problem is that I live on the surface of the sun and there's only a small window of time to achieve that style here. If I were to describe my everyday maternity look, I would say it usually involves my husband's shirts and basketball shorts, and trying not to sweat to death. But then I received a gorgeous wood watch in the mail, and it inspired me to actually get dressed.

So I said gosh darn it to the weather and went to a holiday boutique in a layered maternity outfit. The weather was under 90 degrees so I guess I'll call that a win for fall. My friend Hannah came with me to shop and she agreed to take a million photos of me posing awkwardly so I could get a few decent ones to show off my put-together self.

The shirt I'm wearing is my favorite maternity shirt ever. It's from H&M, but seems to be currently out of stock (here's a similar option). My skinny jeans are from PinkBlush and are available here in a different color. My burgundy flats and striped cardigan were picked up from the clearance rack at Target. I love wearing cardigans open over a t-shirt while pregnant. When the weather allows it, you better believe that I'm wearing a cardigan of some sort.

Let's talk about that watch though (which you can find here).

JORD sells the most gorgeous wood watches for men and women. Yep, wood watches. I love how unique and timeless they are, plus I think it really completes my outfit and helps me look more put together. I'm not the best when it comes to accessorizing, but when I see this beautiful watch, I automatically want to put it on.

Lucky for you, JORD has a giveaway for a $75 e-gift code going on right now (and you get a $20 e-gift code emailed straight to you just for entering) so you can get your very own wood watch (or as a great Christmas gift for someone else)! Go here to enter! The contest will run until 12/4/16 and the codes will expire on 2/28/2017.

How We Wore It // Fall Transition

This month I decided to go a little out of my comfort zone. I joined with some fabulous bloggers for a fashion post collaboration. Each month Brooke from Silver Lining finds an inspiration photo and the bloggers involved for the month post their take on the outfit (some more successfully then others; sorry for bringing the group down guys).

Normally I would run the other way from this type of opportunity, but Brooke recently moved to Arizona and we became real-life friends instead of just virtual blog friends. Knowing how wonderful Brooke is, I decided that I at least had to try this out once. And you know what? It wasn't as awkward as I feared. It might have helped that there were some teenage boys filming a movie across the street while I snapped my outfit photos. Thanks adolescent teens for making me feel better.

Here's the original look:
via Life with Emily
Here's my interpretation:

I was inspired by the color when I first saw the photo. Since the little bike pattern is the same color as Emily's top, it reminded me of this cardigan that was hidden away in my closet. I never wear it, even though I love it. Arizona is just so uncommonly hot that there's never really a reason to wear a cardigan. I decided that this challenge was the perfect excuse to wear it.

I immediately regretted my decision once I stepped outside. Notice how the title states fall transition. Yet, the high today was 106 degrees. Nothing about that says fall. Oh well. I still love this cardigan, and hopefully sometime in January I can wear it without melting to death.

Of course, I couldn't snap outfit photos without my favorite little accessory joining me for a few pictures.

Final Countdown

This post is sponsored by PinkBlush. Click here to learn more.

We are officially in countdown mode. Well I've been counting down since the beginning, but we are in a more serious countdown now.

At my appointment yesterday, my doctor told me that I'm 2 cm dilated and 90% effaced with baby's head dropped and ready to go. My next appointment is on Friday, but my doctor told me that baby boy won't stay put until then. Umm, hello!? I'm only 37.5 weeks! I thought I had until April 8th? We have been in a frenzy to get all the last minute stuff done that we thought we had time for. Luckily, we've had a lot of help from family in our last minute preparedness craze.

With baby boy making his appearance any day now, I'm not exactly sure when I'll be posting next on this blog so I thought I'd leave you with a little giveaway while I'm away. PinkBlush has been my absolute favorite place to get my maternity clothes this entire pregnancy. Their clothes are high quality and so comfortable (comfort is what constitutes good maternity clothing, btw). I think they noticed how much I loved their clothes because they're offering one of my readers a chance to win a $35 gift card to spend on their site. PS- They also have a regular clothing line in case you aren't prego right now so you can use the gift card towards that too.

Here's to crossing my fingers we'll have a baby boy in a few days and crossing my fingers for you to win! Get to entering!

Hello Third Trimester Bumpdate

How far along? 27 weeks and five days. Seven months already! Baby is the size of: a rutabaga. Baby boy is over a foot long and weighs around two pounds. Maternity clothes? Yes! I live in leggings and loose tops. Sleep? Sleep has actually improved. But to get through the day, a 2-3 hour nap is required. Movement? Lots and lots of it! Baby boy is a mover and shaker. Food cravings? Ramen noodles which is the weirdest thing. I also have been loving milkshakes lately. Showing? I sure am. I think it's all sorts of fun to have a bump. Weight gain/loss? After gaining back all the weight I lost from morning sickness, I have gained an additional 8 pounds on top of that. I have a feeling a lot more weight will be gained throughout the remaining weeks. Belly button in or out? It's attempting to become an outie. It looks quite funny in its in-between stage. Stretch marks? I haven't noticed any yet and I attribute that to slathering on coconut oil. Happy or moody? Still happy. There have been a few tears shed for no reason at all, but my mood is usually good. Looking forward to: ...well, I can tell you what I'm not looking forward to- my glucose test in the morning. Wish me luck!

Dress: eShakti | Shoes: DSW | Belt: (similar)
(Dress no longer available, shoes no longer available, and I can't remember where I got my belt. Fail.)

I have to rave about this dress for a second. I'm sure almost all of you have heard about eShakti by now. I love, love, love them because they'll let you customize your dress by adding sleeves or changing the neckline or lengthening the hemline, ecetra and so forth. But the very best thing about dresses from eShakti? All their dresses have pockets! If that's not the best thing in the world, I don't know what is.

17 Weeks

I simultaneously love and hate these pregnancy questionnaires so I give you full permission to skip over this post.

How far along? 17 weeks. I can't believe I'm four months pregnant already! Baby is the size of: a pear. About 5 inches long and weighs about 6 ounces. Maternity clothes? They're not really necessary yet, but I really hate any and all waistbands. I've slowly been acquiring some items from Target and PinkBlush. I have a few maternity tops that I love and I pretty much live in leggings. Sleep? I wake up a lot to change positions. I usually fall asleep pretty quickly afterwards, but it's still not extremely fun to wake up at least five times during the night just to roll over. Movement? I felt my first kick on Saturday! I usually push a little bit on my stomach when I'm laying in bed just to see if I can feel anything. As my hand was laying on my stomach, someone decided to push back! Best moment of the week? Feeling the baby kick. Crossing my fingers for more movement soon! Miss anything? Sleeping on my stomach. Food cravings? Not so much cravings, more like there's only a few things I can eat. I go through a family size bag of frozen chicken nuggets a week, and I really like pasta, rice, and potatoes. Anything make you queasy? The dishwasher! Andrew is on permanent dish duty. Showing? My stomach is starting to protrude. I'm just waiting for the day that it looks like there's an actual baby in there and not just a large meal. Weight gain/loss? Morning all-day sickness got the best of me (and still occasional gets the best of me) and I lost 7lbs the first trimester. I'm slowly getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Hopefully I'll be able to start packing on the pounds now that I can eat a little more. Stretch marks? Not yet. Happy or moody? Happy. I haven't had too many mood swings thus far. Looking forward to: finding out the gender in two weeks! At our 12 week ultrasound, the tech told us what they thought it might be so I'm excited to either confirm or deny that.

PinkBlush Outfit and Giveaway

I am so excited to share with you my outfit courtesy of PinkBlush, an adorable online clothing boutique that features the cutest clothes and accessories. They have tons of floral, flowy dresses and tops, and their summer shorts are right on trend.

When I saw this top, I knew I had to have it. I love the zipper detail plus it's super light weight and breathable which is perfect for Arizona's hellish summers (it was 105 degrees when I took these pictures). I also picked out this awesome necklace which I figured was simple enough to go along with the zippers (the zippers count as accessories too, right?)

Le Tote

I'm super pumped about today's post! A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Le Tote and asked if I would like to try out their unique membership plan. After looking around on their site, I was completely on board. Le Tote is a program that allows you to "borrow" clothes and accessories from an unlimited closet as many times as you want for a simple monthly payment.

Here's how it works: Once you sign up, you fill out a style profile and "heart" items that you like. This allows their resident stylists to pick out and personalize a tote just for you. They mail you your tote and then you get to keep/wear all the items for as long as you want. Two days, two weeks, two months- it's totally up to you. Once you decide you'd like some new options in your wardrobe, send it back. Oh, and free two day shipping both ways.

I realize I'm not the best at explaining things, so I found this helpful video below that shows exactly how Le Tote works:

You guys know I don't do outfit posts because, well, because I'm an awkward person and they never turn out (selfies by self-timer is a straight-up recipe for awkwardness). But here's one picture to show off the totally cute dress I got in one of my Le Totes. The bracelet, which I love, is also from Le Tote.

Click here to learn more about how Le Tote works and to sign up for your own. I'll be sure to post more of the awesome clothes and accessories that I get from Le Tote in the future.

Why I'm Not A Fashion Blogger

I believe these pictures are enough evidence of why I'm not a fashion blogger.
Let me stand here awkwardly. Also, Harley, please be in my picture.

Extreme close-up of my nose?
I'm pretty sure this is my come hither look. No wonder I'm single.

Unless I get myself a professional photographer, I think I'll avoid fashion posts.
