Let It Be (Not a post about the Beatles)

My fingers are itching to type, carefully hovering over the keyboard, waiting for the words to flow,
but the words don't come. What a strange concept to yearn to write yet have nothing to spill onto the page.

And then I realize, there isn't anything to say. Sometimes life is just the way it's suppose to be and there's no use trying to analyze it or explain it to others.

So I'll let the pieces fall into their perfect little spaces without trying to change or manipulate them. Sometimes you have to let life be.

PS - Tonight I'm going to a special Phoenix Suns event. Exclusive invite to a dinner with coaches, managers, and past players. Me and the boy are rather excited. (Yes, I do have a boy now if you couldn't tell from my last #typethenthink post).

PPS - Tomorrow is the 3rd Annual AZ Blogger Meetup and it's being held at Clothes Minded. I'm so ready to reunite with my fellow bloggy friends.

terrifyingly familiar

you are terrifying, yet familiar. my mind says to run, but my heart pulls me towards you.

for the first time, i listen. i let go of my stubborn pride and let myself run into your arms. you're there to pull me into you and my head rests on your chests, counting the steady rhythm as your heart beats, grateful that we found our way back to each other.

you are terrifying, but i don't mind.

ps- last day to enter the giveaway!

first sight

"i believe in love at first sight, but i will always believe that the people we love, we have loved before. many, many, many times before and when we stumble through grace and circumstance and that brilliant illusion of choice to finally meet them again, we feel it faster each time through. the one glance that set life alight is two sets of eyes staring through the layers of lifetimes and stolen glances and first kisses and hands held; the brace against the weight of the unrelenting tide of waiting. i believe in love at first sight, but am not burdened with the misconception that it's a first sight at all."

quickening heart

i'm on the edge.
my heels are planted firmly on the ground, but my toes hang over quite dangerously.
should i cling on for dear life or free fall into the unknown?

just how do you know when it's time to let go? let go of what you know and want, and; instead, reach for something new and unsure.

it's quite nerve racking, but i like the feeling. the feeling of my pulse quickening and my breath catching as i let myself wonder about the possibilities.

i think it's time to take a chance and allow my body to slip off the edge.
i'm ready to feel the air rush past me. i'm ready for a pair of arms to catch me after the fall.

pulled by the tide

whenever life is working out exactly how you planned, how you imagined and dreamed it would all pan out, that's how you know things are about to fall apart.

suddenly, things you once loved are now things you hate. and everything you thought you could depend on is rocky and unstable.

but it's okay. or at least it will be soon.

because you don't need the life you planned. you can live an even better one if you let the wind throw you around for a bit. it might even land you exactly where you need to be.

so give into the changes. run the opposite direction of the usual.
it's time for new paths. new adventures. new experiences.

we grow by mistakes anyways so let's go make some while we're young.

Sparks

I have a hard time claiming my feelings. I convince myself they're meaningless, simply made up in the corners of my mind.
How horrible to make fire into flames and flames into sparks.
But I don't like being moved by someone else. I don't like them to be in control of my feelings.
My hands shake. my head spins. And I can't stop it.
So I smother the flames into merely sparks stored in the recesses of my mind.
My heart may attempt to carry me to you, but I'm good at running the other way.

Drawn to the Flame

I've heard we want what's bad for us.

Just like a candle. It's purpose is in vain unless a spark gives it life. A candle yearns for a flame, yet once lit, it slowly melts into a puddle of wax. What it needs to meet it's objective, the very reason why the candle was made, will ultimately bring it to it's demise. I tell myself it will be different, that I won't let myself slowly burn out.

I've also heard we want what we can't have.

Something just out of reach seems so much more alluring than when it's simply put in our lap to enjoy. I watch as I am so close to grasping what I want, but it slips through my fingers every time. Do I realize my attempts are in vain and give up? No, instead my desire for it grows. So I'll keep clenching my hand around thin air.

i'm no quiter

my phone sits on my desk. it lights up and begins to flash a small green light.
i know it's a text from you.

my heartbeat picks up in excitement, but my head tells me to be upset.
upset with you for continuing this confusing game. one i don't want to play anymore.
so i ignore that blinking green light on my phone, but resisting is futile.
i will give-in within the hour and respond just like you want.
how is it that you always win this game?

i should just quit,
but i think a part of me likes playing after all.
